Poh Teck Tung Foundation Holds Merit-Making Ceremony for Queen Mother

On July 31, 2026, the Poh Teck Tung Foundation organized a 'Gong Tek' merit-making ceremony at the Dusit Maha Prasat Throne Hall within the Grand Palace in Bangkok. The event was held to dedicate merit to Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. His Majesty the King graciously designated Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari to preside over the ceremony on his behalf, which included the symbolic 'crossing of the bridge' ritual.

Additionally, the King appointed General Prince Chalermsuk Yugala, Major General Prince Nawapansa Yugala, Prince Thikamporn Yugala, and Princess Srisawangwong Yugala to represent him at various stages of the rites. The ceremony featured traditional Chinese Buddhist chants, the recitation of the Sukhavati-vyuha Sutra, and rituals involving the symbolic release of animals and offerings. Following the event, the foundation donated the ceremonial food and supplies to the Princess Pa Foundation of the Thai Red Cross Society, dedicating the merit to Her Royal Highness Princess Bajrakitiyabha.
