Pasak River Embankment Breach Floods Over 500 Homes in Phetchabun

On the night of August 1, 2026, a section of the embankment along the Pasak River in Lom Sak district, Phetchabun province, collapsed following persistent heavy rainfall in the upstream areas. According to reports from Khaosod Online, the surge of water overwhelmed sandbag barriers, causing rapid flooding in villages 7 and 8 of Tambon Tan Diao, including the Ban Rai area and the vicinity of Wat Thung Chan Samut. Local authorities estimate that over 500 households have been affected by the inundation.

Prachit Sukwattana, head of the Sawang Mongkol Faith Foundation in Lom Sak, noted that the flooding was triggered by heavy rains in the upper Pasak River basin. Water levels at the S.33 monitoring station near Ban Hai Yong rose rapidly, leading to overflow that impacted agricultural land and homes in Ban Wang Muang and Ban Wang Khon in Tambon Tat Kloi before reaching the downstream communities.
