Fatal Shooting at Bangkok Temple Funeral

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a violent incident occurred at Wat Bueng Thong Lang in the Khlong Chan sub-district of Bangkok. A 27-year-old man, identified as Mr. Phokai, was shot and killed while attending the funeral of his girlfriend. Witnesses reported that an assailant approached the victim, punched him, and subsequently fired eight shots, followed by a final shot to the head. Two other individuals were reported injured during the attack.

Reports indicate that the victim had been released on bail following an incident on July 29, 2026, in which he allegedly accidentally shot and killed his girlfriend. The assailant is reportedly the boyfriend of a friend of the deceased woman, and the motive is believed to be retaliation for the woman's death. The shooter reportedly made statements claiming he would evade police capture.
