Thai National Returns Home After Drug Charges Dropped in Japan

According to a report by Khaosod Online Thailand, a 28-year-old Thai woman, identified by the pseudonym 'Ms. A', has arrived back in Thailand following her detention in Japan. Ms. A, along with her boyfriend and a friend, had traveled to Japan on July 11, 2026, working as couriers for Thai residents living in the country. Upon arrival at Fukuoka Airport, Japanese authorities discovered crystal methamphetamine hidden inside coffee packets within her luggage, leading to her immediate detention.

Following an investigation, Japanese prosecutors decided not to pursue charges against Ms. A, citing insufficient evidence to link her to the illicit substances. She has since returned to Thailand and reported to the Narcotics Suppression Bureau (NSB) to provide a statement. Her family was present to support her upon her arrival at Suvarnabhumi Airport.
