Thai Smile Boat Joins Government Subsidy Program

According to a report by Khaosod Online, Thai Smile Boat, the operator of electric passenger vessels on the Chao Phraya River, has officially joined the government’s 'Thai Chuay Thai Plus 60/40' subsidy program. This initiative aims to alleviate the cost of living for the public while promoting environmentally friendly transportation.

Effective from August 1 to September 30, 2026, passengers are eligible to pay a reduced fare of 12 baht per trip, down from the standard rate of 30 baht. To utilize this benefit, commuters must present their eligibility via the 'Pao Tang' application to staff at the pier or to ticket collectors on board the vessels.

For residents and travelers, this program offers a significant reduction in daily commuting costs while supporting the use of clean energy transport in Bangkok. It is important to note that this is a time-bound promotion, and passengers should ensure their Pao Tang application is ready for use before boarding.
