Thailand Launches New Welfare and Rehabilitation Initiative for Forest Rangers

On July 31, 2026, marking World Ranger Day, Thailand’s Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Suchart Chomklin, officially launched the government’s 'Protecting Forests to Save Lives' policy at Khao Yai National Park in Nakhon Nayok province.

A key component of this policy is the establishment of a dedicated rehabilitation and recovery center specifically for rangers who have sustained injuries while performing their duties. The Minister emphasized that the government is committed to providing full support and enhanced welfare benefits to these personnel, acknowledging their sacrifices in protecting the nation's natural resources.
