Couple Sentenced for Theft and Destruction of Winning Lottery Ticket

The defendants confessed to the charges, admitting they had initially told the victim her ticket was a winner, only to later claim it was a losing ticket and that they had discarded it.

Following a police investigation, the couple admitted they had stolen the ticket and subsequently burned it out of fear of legal repercussions. As part of the court ruling, the defendants were ordered to pay 150,000 baht in damages to the victim. The defendants have also agreed to serve as witnesses to assist the victim in her ongoing efforts to claim the first-prize winnings from the Government Lottery Office.
