Authorities Deploy Drones to Address Water Quality at Bueng Si Fai

On July 31, 2026, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Suchart Chomklin announced an initiative to restore the water quality of Bueng Si Fai, a significant natural landmark and tourist destination in Phichit province. According to Khaosod Online Thailand, the Minister has directed the Pollution Control Department (PCD) to utilize unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) to survey the surrounding area. The objective is to pinpoint specific pollution sources and gather spatial data to develop effective, targeted restoration measures.

The PCD’s regional office in Nakhon Sawan has been monitoring water quality throughout the 2026 fiscal year. Data from the first three quarters indicates that the center of the lake, designated as point BS05, has trended toward a 'Category 5' water quality classification, which generally indicates poor conditions.
