Our story

A bridge, not just a platform.

SawaLife was born from a simple, lived reality: living in or visiting Thailand shouldn't be an obstacle course. We bring into one place what, for most people, stays scattered across ten browser tabs, three Facebook groups and advice that contradicts itself.

The story behind the screen

Written by someone who lived every step of it

SawaLife wasn't born in a boardroom. It was born from the everyday life of a software engineer who has lived in Thailand for several years, and who learned — often the hard way — everything the travel guides never mention.

Year after year, the same questions kept coming up: where to find reliable visa information, how to judge a neighbourhood before moving there, who to trust for a local service, how to simply meet other people living the same adventure. The answers existed, but scattered, contradictory, sometimes paywalled, rarely centralised.

SawaLife started as a personal tool, built to solve those frustrations one by one. It grew, step by step, into a platform built for everyone living that same reality: first-time tourists passing through, future residents deep in preparation, or expats already settled who are still finding their footing.

Our mission

Simplify and centralise, for real

The goal is simple to state, demanding to keep: bring everything a tourist or an expat needs to live in Thailand with peace of mind into one reliable place — and build, piece by piece, the tools that were still missing.

Simplify

Replace scattered information with clear, verified, actionable answers — no jargon, no empty promises.

Centralise

One place for practical information, everyday tools and the right connections, instead of ten different platforms.

Build together

The platform grows with its members: every difficulty identified sooner or later becomes a tool or a feature.

A human calling

A bridge between two worlds

Beyond information, SawaLife's ambition is a human one: bringing expats and tourists closer to Thai people themselves. Understanding a culture, respecting its customs, and building real local relationships instead of staying on the sidelines — that, too, is what it means to build a good life in Thailand.

The real goal

Finding the right people, not just the right information

Behind the guides and practical tools, SawaLife is pursuing something more ambitious: becoming the place where expats who genuinely love Thailand find each other — to share a common ambition, move forward together on a project, or simply find the right person, with the right skills, at the right time.

People who share your projects

Digital nomads, entrepreneurs, creators: find profiles moving in the same direction as you.

Specific skills, exactly when you need them

Need a developer, a designer, or a trusted partner for a project? SawaLife's community is built for exactly these encounters.

A community, not just contacts

Every connection runs on clear rules and real moderation, so trust stays at the centre.

Built for every stage of your Thailand journey

  • The traveller preparing a first trip who wants to leave with peace of mind.
  • The digital nomad looking for a lifestyle, a community, and the right tools to work with ease.
  • The future expat comparing cities, budgets and paperwork before taking the leap.
  • The already-settled expat who wants to go further: integrate better, find partners, give real meaning to their project in Thailand.

What will never change

Honesty above all

We say what we know, what we don't know yet, and we never promise what we can't deliver.

Respect as the foundation

Respect for Thai law, local customs, and every member of this community, whatever their background.

Privacy taken seriously

Your data and conversations stay yours — protected by default, never exposed without your consent.

A travel companion, not an authority

SawaLife guides, informs and connects — but does not issue visas, diagnose health, sell insurance, guarantee prices or replace an official authority or qualified professional. Important decisions must always be confirmed with the linked competent source.
